Cosmetology Classes in the Bronx, NYC

At Brittany Beauty Academy, you choose how many hours per week you attend. Options range from 12 hours per week up to 31.25 hours per week. Day and evening class options are available so you can build a schedule around your life, not the other way around.

Cosmetology classes cover the full range of beauty services required for the New York State license. That includes hair cutting, hair coloring, chemical services, hair styling, basic skin care, nail care, anatomy, hair science, sanitation, and salon business skills. By the time you complete 1,000 hours, you will be trained across every area of the profession.

Yes. Our Bronx campus offers cosmetology classes in Spanish. Many of our students and instructors are bilingual, and we are proud to serve the Spanish-speaking community throughout the Bronx. You do not need to speak English fluently to complete the program and earn your license.

Yes. A major part of your training happens in our student-run salon, where you provide real services to real clients under the supervision of licensed instructors. You start on mannequins to build your technique, then progress to live clients as your skills develop. This hands-on class experience is one of the most valuable parts of the program.

The full program is 1,000 hours. Full-time students can complete it in roughly 7 to 8 months. Part-time students attending fewer hours per week typically take 18 to 20 months. Your class schedule and personal pace determine the timeline.

Absolutely. Our classes are designed to take you from zero experience to fully licensed professionals. No prior beauty training is needed to enroll. You just need to be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED — or be actively working toward one.

Cosmetology classes cover the full scope of beauty services — hair, skin, nails, and chemical services — and lead to a full cosmetology license. An esthetics program focuses specifically on skin care and facial treatments and leads to a separate esthetics license. If you want the most flexibility in your career, cosmetology classes give you the broadest range of skills and services.

Yes. Our entire 1,000-hour curriculum is built around the knowledge and skills tested on the New York State Board of Cosmetology Exam. Theory classes, hands-on practice, and exam preparation are all woven into the program from start to finish. Our graduates leave ready and confident to pass.
