Brittany Beauty Academy 5 star review

Online portion of the session was AMAZING with MS SHEILA She goes over the theory portion so in depth and even has you doing hands on services during the zoom class that allows you to feel MORE THAN PREPARED for when you hit the senior floor and start taking clients. When you get on the floor, make sure to learn as much as you can with Ms Yona. She’s INCREDIBLY and so passionate about what she does

Our 600-Hour Esthetics Program

Our esthetics program is a complete 600-hour training course. It is designed to cover every area of professional skincare — from facials and skin analysis to hair removal and advanced treatments.
This is not a short certificate course. It is a full professional education. It prepares you to sit for the New York State Esthetician Licensing Exam and graduate with a license that lets you work anywhere in New York. Every hour you spend with us brings you one step closer to the career you want.

Program Duration and Hours

The program requires 600 total hours of training. The time it takes depends on how many hours you attend each week.
You can choose to attend as few as 12 hours per week or up to full-time hours. We offer day and evening classes so you can fit school around your life. Whether you work, have children, or other responsibilities — there is a schedule that works for you. You can complete the full program in as little as five months. Our admissions team can help you build a schedule that fits your goals and your life.

Hybrid Learning — Online and In-Person

At Brittany Beauty Academy, we use a hybrid learning model. Part of your training is completed online. Part is completed hands-on in our student salon.
You start by building foundational knowledge through online theory classes. Then you bring that knowledge to life in the salon. You will move from demonstrations to practicing on real clients — step by step. You build your skills and your confidence along the way.
This flexible approach is perfect for students in the Brooklyn who have busy lives but serious goals.

Your Student Kit — Everything You Need for Class

When you enroll in the esthetics program at Brittany Beauty Academy, you receive a complete professional student kit. Everything you need to participate in class and practice at home is included.
Your kit contains professional-grade tools and products — skincare implements, facial tools, application brushes, product samples, waxing supplies, and your course textbooks. These are the same types of tools used in professional spas and skincare clinics across New York City.
Your kit is yours to keep. When you graduate and start working, you will already have a solid set of professional tools ready to go.

Frequently Asked Questions — Esthetician School in the Brooklyn, NYC

Is it worth studying esthetics in NYC?

Yes — absolutely. New York City has one of the most active beauty and wellness markets in the world. A New York State esthetician license from an accredited school gives you the credentials to work in top spas, skincare clinics, and medical spas in the city. Licensed estheticians in NYC have strong earning potential. Many build their own client base or open their own businesses over time.

How long does the esthetics program take?

The program at Brittany Beauty Academy requires 600 hours. If you attend full-time, you can finish in as little as five months. Part-time students who attend fewer hours per week will take a little longer. We offer flexible schedules to fit your life. Contact our admissions team to estimate your completion date.

What license will I receive after graduating?

After completing the 600-hour program, you will be eligible to take the New York State Esthetician Licensing Exam. Passing this exam gives you your New York State esthetician license. This lets you legally work as an esthetician anywhere in NYC and across the state.

Can I work while I attend esthetics school?

Yes. Many of our Brooklyn students work while attending school. That is why we offer flexible day and evening schedules. You can attend as few as 12 hours per week and still complete the full program at your own pace.

What is the difference between an esthetician and a cosmetologist?

An esthetician focuses on skincare — facials, hair removal, skin analysis, and treatments. A cosmetologist is trained in hair, skin, and nails. Our 600-hour esthetics program covers everything you need to become a licensed esthetician. If you want a broader license, our hairdressing and cosmetology program covers it all.

Is financial aid available for the esthetics program?

Yes. Financial aid is available for students who qualify at Brittany Beauty Academy. Depending on your situation, you may be eligible for federal grants, loans, or other assistance programs. Talk to our financial aid team to find out what you can access. It is a free and pressure-free conversation.

Does Brittany Beauty Academy have a real salon where I can practice?

Yes. Our student salon is open to the public and offers skincare services at affordable prices. As a student, you will practice real services on real clients under the supervision of licensed instructors. This hands-on experience is a key part of what makes our graduates ready to work from day one. Read more about what we offer at our Brooklyn campus.

What do I need to enroll in the esthetics program?

To enroll, you need to be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED — or be actively working toward one. You do not need any prior experience in beauty or skincare. Our program is designed to take you from beginner to licensed professional. Visit our admissions and enrollment page for full details.
